The london inn in Kilhampton for Sunday lunch and the Wainwright Arms on the A39 near Bude for great food and friendly service. 5* stay.

  • 5 Star stay! The place was clean, well kitted and just what we needed for our family break. Cosy and homely accommodation and great location. We faced a booking issue (our fault) which Cara helped us with promptly. Loved Bude beach and sea pool, widemouth bay lookout pint and playing games with the children.

  • We had a great 4 night stay at Cara's place (2 adults and 2 kids plus a pooch). The house was perfect in every way. Everything you needed was there, including dog bed and drinking bowls. The place was immaculate, the bed was very comfortable, and the shower was great! The garden was secluded, and we loved watching the bids on the feeder, and listening to the owls at night. We all had a great nights sleep. The club house had evening activities like bingo, kids discos and free pool. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Having a car to get round is a must, especially if u have kids. No bussses run on a sunday. Our car broke down on arrival, so were were limited to what we could do. Theres a coop which is 10 min walk away, 2 pubs and a pizza place in the village. Big shout out to Richie at the stowe bar, he was our night in shining armour. He was very helpful to us! We will definitely be back. Thank you Cara for letting us stay at your beautiful home

  • Amazing lodge, loved all the beach related decorations and the hygeine. The bedrooms were really cozy, we had a blast of a time surfing and visiting the eden project. The Stowe bar on site had excellent games inc pool, & darts. London pub in Kilkhampton had a lovely curry.

  • Lovely 5 days in March spent at Sea Coombe. The weather was amazing too. Everything was clean, and the lodge was well equipped. Cara was a super and attentive host and all the little extras she had left for us like tea, coffee, sugar, washing up liquid etc was so unexpected and most welcome. We know Penstowe very well, have made lots of friends and love the peace and tranquillity it offers and will be a regular visitor. Sea Coombe offers privacy and a lovely view with lots of wildlife to enjoy from the conservatory.

  • Lovely cosy chalet and really well equipped. We love siting in the garden which is really peaceful. We enjoyed checking out Sandymouth beach. Recommend Boscastle which is a very cute little place as well as Clovelly village which was so relaxing and interesting to explore. Bude is a well equipped town with really nice beaches. Eden project is also well worth a visit.

  • Arriving at Sea Coombe with the long reaching views and comfortable interior made me relax immediately. Enjoying just sitting watching the birds.
    The Bush Inn serves good food in a historic (13th century) setting in a wonderful position with coastal views. Sandymouth is a beautiful beach and Bude has all the amenities you could wish for. Local walks were also enjoyable in beautiful countryside.
    Enjoyed having a game of pool at the onsite sport bar (the Stowe) one evening too.

  • Loved sitting watching the various birds visit the feeders and listening to the sound of birdsong which is very relaxing. It was so peaceful. Enjoyed visiting Sandymouth beach with its waterfalls. Recommend the electric bakery for good coffee, cakes, croissants and sourdough bread. Also recommend the onsite bar The Stowe which was very friendly and very reasonably priced.

  • Fabulous stay. Just the place to unwind. Spent lots of time watching the bird feeder usually with G&T in hand in the evenings! The dog appreciated the long walks and we were out every day.
    The place was very, very clean and equipped with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The weather was kind to us and I was able to enjoy my walking. We think you have a lovely spot here, so thank you very much!

  • Fantastic base to explore the local area. Communication and help from Sue has been superb.
    The lodge is clean and comfortable. Duckpool beach is a must - beautiful scenery even in stormy weather and the waves are incredible to watch! We also ate out at the Wei Cheng Chinese buffet which was a small venue but honestly the best home-cooked chinese food we've had.
    Would happily stay again to explore the area further! Thank you.

  • We've been wanting to explore the Hartland Peninsula for a while and this is a fabulous base to do so! Lovely, clean accommodation which would have a great sunset if it stopped raining! We've enjoyed a circular walk around Welcombe Mouth, a swim for Lyra in Clovelly harbour, a cliff top walk towards Bude from Northcott mouth, tea at Sandymouth, a walk over to Spekes Mill Mouth from Hartland and sunday roast at Westcountry Inn.

  • Lovely, cosy lodge - Great for 1 week. It had a great view and beautiful birds, even saw Phil the pheasant.   • Albeit these comments are delayed, we had a super wonderful stay from 14-22 July. The accommodation was thoughtful and provided everything needed, the views were wonderful including being able to witness two fantastic sunsets, our pup had his first holiday, and all had the best time. Although the weather was interchangeable at times, we only had to drive a few miles to the coast and it was often clear blue sky. Thank you so very much.

  • We've had a great 2 weeks. The lodge is in the best spot on the park! Weather has been very mixed and we've been grateful for the indoor pool & sports hall - thank you for the use of the badminton set & games!
    Happy to have ended on a stretch of sunny days for the beach. Summerleaze is ideal for body boarding and would recommend Big Blue for surfing lessons.

  • We had a lovely time in a beautiful spot with a beautiful view. We loved watching the birds every day! We loved visiting numerous beaches (Duckpool is a hidden gem!) followed by trips to The London Inn. Paddleboarding and walk at Tamar Lake is a must - dogs allowed on pedaloes too. One piece of advice - book if you want to eat out. (Would highly recommend Life's a Beach!) However, Ape Pizza and Wayside Chinese are just as delicious as the many restaurants available. Thank you so much for our homely welcome and stay, we've enjoyed every minute! We hope to return to this wonderful lodge soon!

    Sandymouth beach is fab and beautiful for the dogs and the views - likewise is Summerleaze beach. We did the Rocky Valley to St Nectans Glen walk lovely views but not ideal with 2 labradors as too many steps!
    Ordered from Wayside chinese - nice food! Also ate at the London Inn & Bush Inn (lovely)

  • Beautiful lodge in a lovely location. We have been blessed with the most glorious weather and have made the most of Summerleaze beach and the Sea Pool. Our daughter has also had a go at rock-climbing and a wonderful horse ride on Westward Ho beach. Ape Pizza yummy, Rectory Tea Rooms at Morwenstow are lovely after a coastal walk. We found the chinese take-away very good. Thanks Sue for a great stay - we've loved it!

  • We had perfect weather! Loved the BBQs outside and also enjoyed star gazing on a clear night! We saw shooting stars & the milky way whilst listening to owls hooting!
    We come to Bude every year and Summerleaze did not disappoint with 5 foot waves for bodyboarding. Bude segway was great fun. The walk to Hawkers Hut was good but also the Crackington Cracker walk was very hilly but breathtaking views.
    Onsite entertainment good. Check out London Inn for great Saturday night live music and good food too!

  • Thank you for the most wonderful stay. The treats on arrival were so lovely and the lodge itself is cosy and comfortable in a lovely quiet spot. The children especially liked finding the array of games and books in the cupboard. We loved nature-watching in the garden area and found the swimming pool to be great too along with King Arthur's Clubhouse.
    We loved visiting Bude and going on the pedalos, along with crazy golf, Summerleaze beach and looking around the castle. Sandymouth and Widemouth Bay were especially good for bodyboarding and had fantastic rock pools for crabbing. We recommend Little Pig for a wonderful breakfast and tasty milkshakes.

    Some lovely walks with beautiful views! Plenty of nice places to eat, would recommend the Cobweb Inn, Boscastle. An amazing beach ride with Follyfoot Riding School. We also visited The Milky Way Adventure Park which was enjoyed the most by the children! Bude bike hire was also a great day!

    I can't tell you how good this short break was for our body, soul and mind! Being able to enjoy the wonderful food in the surrounding pubs and seeing the children play with other children of the lodges and on the beaches has been delightful.
    We have enjoyed every stunning sunset and hearing the wildlife every night.

  • Perfect lodge in a perfect location. We enjoyed our visits to Port Isaac, Widemouth Bay, Bodmin Jail & Boscastle while still being able to enjoy the comforts of the lodge. We had a lovely meal at the Jamaica Inn, ate at the Manor Lodge, and also utilised the oven here (all of which accepted dogs)
    Luckily the weather was very kind to us and our two dogs, Nala & Ruby, were able to enjoy plenty of walks! Our daughter also enjoyed the on-site pool.
    Overall an amazing holiday with a lodge that catered to our every need!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and took advantage of the lovely weather. Although our break was short we packed in a lot. We went for a walk around Bude and had some great pizza at La Bocca, went to Summerleaze beach, which was great, and spent a whole day at the Milky Way Adventure Park. I also need to give Captain Crumble a mention who did a fantastic job entertaining the children every evening at the Manor House. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back next year!

  • "Thank you Sue for a lovely stay at your fantastic lodge, very clean and comfortable with all we required. Loved the position of the lodge, very private to sit out late afternoon/early evening after a hard day (lol). Thank you for the cakes on arrival and Freddy's treats.     We all loved long walks on the beach at Bude and the sea pool. Brilliant to swim in the sea with waves. Fred (the pug) loved his swimming, although he was shattered. (only little legs!)
    Port Isaac very nice, struggle for Freddy back up as it was a hot day. Widemouth Bay worth a look, short distance away and great bacon bagle at Black Rock Cafe.
    Great place for dogs, very dog-friendly everywhere. Many thanks, we shall return.

Your lodge is the best in this place - so private and stunning views. We've been so lucky with amazing hot weather. Long days spent on the sandy beaches.   • We've had great week here at Sea Coombe holiday lodge. It's a great location for exploring the north of Cornwall and Devon, spotlessly clean and wonderfully dog friendly.
    Thank you for the cake, tea, milk and flowers and also the treats for the dog. We've really enjoyed watching the wild birds and the squirrel that visit the garden.

  • Stayed here 22 march. Lovely place clean and tidy. Lovely cakes tea coffee milk and sugar left for our arrival. Nothing was too much trouble, any problem and it was sorted out very quick. Will definitely come back again. I can recommend this place.👍👍

  • Great little lodge on a really good site. Thanks for the lovely treats on arrival: the kids loved the chocolate lollies and the cake went down a treat!
    It's been a great base for us to explore the area and beyond - Porfell Wildlife Park (a little run down), Cardinham Woods - great walks and lovely tea room and food, the Gnome Reserve and wildflower garden (great fun and gnome hats are a must!), Sandymouth/Widemouth and Summerleaze beaches exploring the rock pools and making sand castles - even in the rain! Halloween fun at the Milky Way Adventure Park.
    Kids have had great fun in the pool and the kids entertainment. Loads of family memories made!
    Thanks for making a great home from home: would love to return.

  • A big 'thank you' Sue for the most wonderful stay in your lodge and the home-made scones and fresh Cornish cream were most delicious.
    Beautiful and clean, very comfortable and the peace and quiet were greatly welcomed. Just perfect.
    The weather has been kind, which gave us some great days out - Port Isaac, Clovelly and Padstow were some of our visits. Clovelly was amazing.

  • This is the best home away from home. Sue provides everything you could ever need in the lodge. Love the conservatory and the views of the sunsets are amazing! The garden space is private. Doggies are most welcome everywhere on the site. The childrens entertainer is brilliant & all staff were welcoming & pleasant. I can honestly say i have never stayed in such a comfortable, pleasant, well-facilitated holiday home.

  • Absolutely loved this house, clean, quiet and secluded! The site was very peaceful even though it was half term!
    We had a wonderful holiday here and are already looking to book our return.
    It is central for all indoor and outdoor activities and has good facilities onsite.
